better searching

When searching within the IT module today I have to place a # in front of any numbers I want to search on. Is there away to correct the search feature to pickup any numbers. better criteria needed. For ease of use I don't want to have to come up with clever ideas on how to make the search field work to get my results. Ex when entering in 360111 when searching I get nothing for open or closed tickets. When entering in the body of the incident #360111 then when needed searching #360111 I get results. This is cumbersome
